Safety

“Great people are the foundation of our business, and there is no more important investment than the commitment to creating a Safety First culture.” – Nick Robertson, CEO

At RDC, safety is at the core of who we are. It is not simply a requirement; it is a shared responsibility that shapes our decisions, defines our culture, and drives our success. Our safety performance reflects an unwavering commitment to protecting our people through strategic investment, innovative technology, and a people first mindset. By fostering accountability at every level of the organization, we create an environment where safety is embedded in every action, every project, and every outcome.

RDC Safety Commitments

At RDC, safety begins long before work starts. Every project requires a comprehensive Site Specific Safety Plan that identifies potential hazards, establishes controls, and outlines clear expectations for all contractors and trade partners. This collaborative planning process promotes open communication, accountability, and proactive risk management, ensuring that every team member understands the unique challenges of the project and how they will be safely managed. By addressing hazards before work begins, we create safer jobsites, stronger partnerships, and better project outcomes.

RDC’s Life Saving Commitments Program is built around eight critical high risk activities that require heightened awareness and control. Identified by dedicated safety symbols, these commitments serve as daily reminders of the behaviors, safeguards, and accountability needed to ensure every worker returns home safely.
